Welcome to our update and information event

  • Thank you for attending a public information event regarding the emerging proposals for new employment space on land adjacent to Ashton Road, Bredbury Park Way.
  • A public consultation took place last year where we shared initial thoughts on how this site can best deliver much-needed employment space whilst maximising on-site community benefits and reducing any impacts locally.
  • We have made several updates to the scheme based on feedback from residents and stakeholders.
  • We are now updating local residents ahead of submitting a planning application to Stockport Council in the coming weeks. Please review our materials and complete a feedback survey to help further inform the proposals.

WHY IS THIS SCHEME NEEDED?

  • Stockport Council’s Employment Land Review has identified need for high quality, modern and flexible employment space with focus on light industry, general industry and warehousing.
  • The evidence base prepared in support of the planning application backs the need for a new employment site, capable of delivering a range of modern employment units, at the proposed site.
  • There is no available alternative site in Stockport borough for this type and scale of development.
